Uptake and Retention of Estrogens by Uteri from Rats in Various Thyroid States 1

Summary

Uterine uptake and retention of ³H-estradiol-17β in rats subjected to varying levels of thyroid hormones were studied in vivo and in vitro. Uteri from thyroxine-treated rats had a lesser in vivo retention and in vitro uptake of estrogens whereas thyroidectomized rat uteri had greater in vivo retention and in vitro uptake compared with controls.
