Abstract
Summary
Pentagastrin stimulated uterine contractions in several animal species in vitro and in situ. The response could be blocked by atropine. The uterus was not as responsive to the pentapeptide as was the ileum, but the peptide was approximately as potent a uterine stimulus as acetylcholine.
