Summary
The results of this investigation confirmed that M. pusillus NRRL 2543 synthesized an antibiotic substance which restricted the growth of gram-positive micro-organisms. The analytical data showed that the antibiotic, which was isolated in the electrophoretically pure form, was a polypeptide that on acid hydrolysis released 16 different amino acids commonly found in proteins.
