Abstract
Summary
Rabbits infected subcutaneously with E. coli developed hyperlipemia related to increased serum levels of free fatty acids early in the infection and later to increased levels of triglycerides. Rabbits challenged subcutaneously with S. aureus had normal levels of serum lipids during the acute febrile period but after 24 hr developed hyperlipemia related to hypertriglyceridemia.
