Abstract
Summary
In vivo and in vitro studies revealed that incorporation of thymidine-3H into DNA was inhibited in Ehrlich ascites cells treated with cortisone 24 hr before. Incorporations of other DNA precursors were not inhibited. Thymidine kinase was markedly inhibited by pretreatment with cortisone. Other nucleoside kinases (except deoxyuridine kinase), thymidylate kinase, and DNA polymerase were not appreciably affected by the cortisone treatment.
