Abstract
Summary
Biliary excretion of injected conjugated BSP was not affected by feeding rats a protein-free diet for 2 days. The same diet was previously shown to result in decreased dye excretion into bile accounted for by a fall in appearance of conjugated dye when unconjugated BSP was injected. The present findings support earlier conclusions that impaired intrahepatic conjugation results in a decreased rate of biliary excretion of BSP.
