Abstract
Summary
Rabbit immune serum acting with guinea pig complement causes Ehrlich tumor cells to lose their intracellular ATP. Determining the residual ATP in the cells by the luciferin-luciferase test after exposure to the dilutions of the antitumor serum gives a measurement of the antitumor properties of the serum. It is suggested that this approach could be used in other immunological measurements involving cytolysis of cells.
