Abstract
Summary
A markedly increased pO2 shortens hexobarbital sleep times in the intact rat while decreased pO2 lengthens it. These changes are not related to the rate of hexobarbital biotransformation. A decreased pO2 has no effect on the rates of metabolism of the drugs studied, but an increased pO2 increases the rate of disappearance of INH and sulfadiazine from the plasma.
