Summary
Recovery of total leukocyte count, hemagglutinating antibody formation to sheep erythrocytes, and skin allograft rejection was defective after sublethal irradiation in adult hypophysectomized rats. These findings could possibly be interpreted as interference of thymus function by hypophysectomy in immunologic recovery after irradiation.
