Summary
Pathological responses to intracapsular injections of indole, skatole, and 11 aromatic compounds into rabbit knees are correlated with a binomial function for an approximate gaussian distribution of aryl partition coefficient logarithms (In P). This suggests that multistep partitioning processes may be involved in joint injury by these chemicals.
