Summary
d-Penicillamine administration to rats produced significant increases in preference for salt solutions. It also produced a consistent increase in fluid intake of both water and salt solutions. Discontinuation of the d-Penicillamine, along with continued administration of a diet consisting of an adequate mineral content gradually returned taste preference and fluid intake toward normal.
