Conclusion
Methoxyflurane, like dinitrophenol, acts only on the H+ secretory mechanism in Cl--free solutions. This anesthetic also reveals the linear relationship between the PD and H+ rate and permits estimates of the parameters of the H+ secretory mechanism in Cl--free solutions.
