Abstract
Summary
The study of the quantity of immunoglobulins in adult axenic C3H/J mice thymectomized at birth, reveals a significant increase in the IgG2 and IgG1 immunoglobulins until the age of 8 months, in comparison to the control axenic mice. These results point out the role of infection and/or the wasting syndrome in the variation of the quantities of immunoglobulins in thymectomized holoxenic mice. The existence of an homeostatic inhibition effect on the immunoglobulins is considered.
