Summary

Hydrocortisone, a compound capable of prolonging postmitotic life span of primary human amnion cells in vitro was also capable of abolishing the age-dependent increase in lipid/CO₂ ratio of cultures fed with palmitate or oleate, and of delaying the age-dependent increase in incorporation of cholesterol into cell lipids.
