Abstract
Summary
Nonvirion T antigen was isolated from adenovirus-type-31 solid tumors by a series of differential extractions, including overnight digestion with papain, centrifugation, acetone and ammonium sulfate precipitation, and acrylamide-gel electrophoresis on a vertical flat-bed apparatus which enabled us to isolate individual bands of protein. The antigen is membrane-associated, has a sedimentation coefficient of 2.93, is partially heat labile, stable to freeze-thaw, and travels rapidly in acrylamide gel. It is probably not the only T antigen moiety present in these tumors.
