Summary
Water-soluble fraction IV (component 15; Rf 0.73-0.74) purified by electrophoresis of sonicated extracts of strain 2 guinea pig spleen cells, was shown to induce specific allograft immunity in inbred strain 13 animals, thus establishing this material as a transplantation antigen, i.e., a substance which specifically effects the fate of grafts.
