Abstract
Summary
The present experiments show that the urine osmolality of chronically centrifuged rats is reduced below that of either the ad libitum fed or the pair-fed control animals and that this dilution is not accompanied by an increased excretion in the quantity of osmotically-effective solutes. These alterations accompanied by an increased urine output, indicate an enhanced free water excretion thus implying the involvement of the antidiuretic hormone (ADH) in the observed centrifugation polyuria.
