Abstract
Summary
The conditions for eliciting PCA reactions in chickens were described. Optimal reactions were obtained in 3-week-old chickens with an antigen dose of 0.06 mg of BSA/g of body weight administered after a latent period of 3 hr. As determined by the high-salt precipitin test, 0.28 μg of chicken anti-BSA N gave minimal reactions in 3-week-old chickens. Older chickens required larger amounts of antibody to yield minimal reactions. Skin sensitizing antibody resided in the electrophoretically fast-moving globulin fractions.
