Summary
The sensitivities of five double-diffusion methods and immunoelectrophoresis for the detection of antigen and antibody were examined. Although the Freer technique was the most sensitive of these methods, procedures utilizing plastic matrices approached the Preer technique in sensitivity. The advantages and disadvantages of these methods are discussed.
