Summary
The FSH content of the anterior pituitary glands of male rats was found to increase from 17.5 μg of NIH FSH-S-3 equivalents at 10 days of age to 294 μg at 35 days of age. Thereafter, it leveled off at about 300 μg and this value, which is 15-20 times the value in adult female rats, persisted into adulthood.
