Summary
Beta-naphthoflavone, a potent inducer of increased polycyclic hydrocarbon hydroxylase activity, was found to inhibit the occurrence of neoplastic lesions resulting from DMBA in experiments in which the beta naphthoflavone was given prior to the carcinogen. Pulmonary adenoma formation in the A/HeJ strain mouse resulting from oral administration of DMBA and mammary tumor formation in the Sprague-Dawley rat also from oral administration of the same carcinogen were both inhibited by beta-naphthoflavone.
