Summary
Synthesis of DNA in human kidney cell cultures was prevented by X-irradiation. Adenovirus type 12 replicated in irradiated cells as well as unirradiated cells. Virus production was preceded and accompanied by marked increase in cells showing DNA synthesis in the nucleus as monitored by autoradiography, which may be virus and/ or virus-stimulated cell DNA.
