Summary
Rabbits immunized with acid-soluble calf skin collagen develop antibodies with both precipitating and complement-fixing activity specific for bovine collagen. The antigenic determinants reside in acidic portions of the collagen molecule which are removed by heat denaturation and may be implicated in the collagen cross-linking process.
