Summary
A specific rabbit antibody to N. catarrhalis arylamidase was prepared. The antibody acted as a noncompetitive inhibitor of the hydrolysis of alanine-βNA by the bacterial arylamidase. Arylamidases from other sources are apparently immunologically unrelated to the bacterial enzyme.
