Summary and Conclusions

This study of the metabolism of ferric CI-EDDHA and ferrioxamine B, for the period up to 30 min after iv administration in rats has demonstrated that the unique distribution of these iron chelates is singularly dependent on their molecular architecture. These results point to the importance of ligand structure on the metabolism of iron.
