Abstract
Summary
Survival time was increased over 90% in mice with hereditary muscular dystrophy treated orally with a serotonin antagonist, methysergide bimaleate. There was a concurrent increase in body weight in treated animals. Short term treatment for 3 weeks with the drug caused a significant enlargement of the ovaries of dystrophic mice, but had no effect on body weight or other endocrine organ weights of normal mice.
