Summary
Five species of mosquitoes were tested as possible vectors of SV40 virus. The insects were infected by imbibing a virus-chicken erythrocyte suspension, or by parenteral injection of the virus. There was no evidence of multiplication of the virus in the mosquito, or that any of the species tested could serve as biological vectors.
