Abstract
Summary
The present experiments show that the concentration of cardiac glycogen in thyroidectomized rats is consistently higher than in fasted or fed normal rats and that fasting or feeding oleic acid has no significant effects on the cardiac glycogen of hypothyroid animals. In addition, we have shown that isoproterenol produces a dose-dependent decrease in glycogen content in hearts from normal rats, but that it has little effect on the cardiac glycogen of hearts from thyroidectomized rats.
