Abstract
Summary
Desoxycorticosterone will restore the ability of adrenalectomized rats to respond to hemicastration with ovarian compensatory hypertrophy; however complete restoration of the response was only obtained at doses 3-4 times those necessary to preserve life. Corti-costerone-treated, adrenalectomized rats show a recovery of the ovarian response toward normal, but only at doses exceeding those necessary for life maintenance.
