Abstract
Summary
The level of whole complement (C') is consistently elevated postoperatively in the serum of guinea pigs receiving autografts of skin. In guinea pigs receiving allografts, the level of whole serum C'is consistently depressed after the first postoperative day until rejection is completed. C'may play a role in allograft rejection, and depressed levels of serum C'may be a clue to clinical rejection.
