Abstract
Summary
A naturally occurring compound, cycasin (methylazoxymethanol-beta-D-glucoside), and its aglycone and the aglycone acetate were tested for the induction of sex-linked recessive lethal mutations in Drosophila. Cycasin was not mutagenic but methyl-azoxymethanol and its acetate were potent mutagens.
