Abstract
Summary
Following incubation of cartilage slices in a solution with Na2 75SeO4, or injection of Na2 75SeO4 into suckling rats, radioactivity is detected autoradiographically in long bones and cartilages. Histochemical examination revealed that the Se75 is associated with the protein rather than the polysaccha-ride or mineral components of these tissues. The disposition of Se75 in long bones resembles that seen after the injection of C14-labeled ammo acids.
