Abstract
Summary
Dichlorodiphenylacetic acid (DDA) (50 μg/ml) completely disrupted the growth of cultured KB and HeLa cells. Mevalonic acid (25 μg/ml) provided essentially complete protection against the cytox-icity of 50 μg/ml of DDA. Neither acetate nor cholesterol afforded protection against the DDA effect.
