Summary
Established human fibroblast cultures were cloned by isolating single cells on 3 mm square coverslips and growing them in medium containing pre-tested fetal calf serum. Coverslips with single cells were readily obtained by dilute plating combined with mechanical removal of surplus cells. The mean cloning efficiency was 19.1%. Sub-clones were obtained with a mean frequency of 23%.
