Abstract
Summary
Administration of hydrochlor-thiazide at a diuretic dose (5 mg/kg) did not alter either renal hemodynamics or the clearances of PAH and creatinine. When given at 10 mg/kg or at 30 mg/kg; hydrochlorthiazide depressed significantly the clearances of PAH and creatinine. Data are presented to show that the depression of PAH clearance is due to action of HCT on both the renal blood flow and on tubular secretion of PAH.
