Abstract
Summary
Antisera to 6 different gonado-tropins were given to young adult female mice and daily vaginal changes followed. Anti-sera to sheep luteinizing hormone virtually halted vaginal cycling. At comparable dose levels antisera to sheep FSH, HCG, and crude sheep pituitary extract failed to have this effect. It was concluded that there had been a cross-reaction between antibodies to the sheep luteinizing hormone and endogenous mouse pituitary hormones.
