Summary

Incubation of surviving rat and rabbit thyroid tissue in media containing labelled L-tyrosine, MIT or DIT failed to result in incorporation of the label into iodothyronines. When iodide-I¹³¹ was present in the media, the label was incorporated into iodothyronine by rat but not by rabbit thyroid tissue. The cause of this species difference is not known.
