Abstract
Conclusion
The present study reveals differences in strain susceptibility to dietary cirrhosis in the rat. Although environmental factors, such as food intake and growth rate may influence susceptibility to cirrhosis, they do not fully account for the changes observed. It is inferred that inherited traits in some unknown fashion exert an important effect on the susceptibility of the rat to dietary cirrhosis.
