Abstract
Summary
The Friend Leukemia Virus causes significant thrombocytopenia within 48 hours after infection in Swiss Webster female mice. This thrombocytopenia has been demonstrated to be dependent upon the dilution of virus inoculated. A linear relationship exists between dose of virus and degree of thrombocytopenia. A dose-response curve using thrombocytopenia can be used to assay the Friend Leukemia Virus.
