Abstract
Summary
Dilantin administered intraperitoneally to fed and fasted rats caused a significant increase in plasma FFA. When Dilantin was given in combination with epinephrine or glucagon, a synergistic effect in increasing plasma FFA was observed. An additive but not synergistic effect was observed with growth hormone. The plasma FFA elevating effect of Dilantin was reversed when insulin was also administered to rats.
