Summary
Prior chromatographic evidence implicated the participation of Fe59-amino acid complexes in intestinal absorption of Fe59. Present studies show that the chromatographic evidence is inadequate to demonstrate such complexes and appears to result from the formation of Fe59-Versene in the experimental procedure.
