Abstract
Summary
During the development of the generalized Shwartzman reaction elicited by colchicine in the pregnant Syrian hamster, intravenously administered carbon particles are trapped in the renal glomeruli. The carbon particles are attached to underlying deposits of an amorphous material within the glomerular capillaries. It is concluded that this material is responsible for the capture of circulating carbon particles.
