Summary
Attempts were made to demonstrate the presence of thyronine within thyroid tissue slices as well as its formation using as accepted precursor UL-C14-tyrosine. Not only was thyronine not isolated but no evidence was found for the incorporation of tyrosine into any of the thyronine iodinated analogs.
