Summary
The viscosimetric response of rat myocardial actomyosin solutions to addition of ATP (ATP sensitivity) varies with ventricular weight. This suggests quantitative or qualitative changes in the components of the contractile system with cardiac growth. Total contractile protein concentration is unchanged and maximum isometric tension development by surviving muscles did not vary.
