Summary
Ovarian cysts were experimentally induced by injecting hypothyroid rats with human chorionic gonadotropin. Cystic ovarian tissue synthesized in vitro a large quantity of 20α-hydroxypregn-4-en-3-one but estrogen synthesis was low.
