Summary

1. An attenuated initial hemodynamic response to endotoxin was observed in adult mongrel dogs under conditions of low blood pCO₂ at both high and low pH. 2. No change in vascular responsiveness to histamine was found under these same conditions. 3. No change in the later phase of progressive systemic hypotension and death was observed.
