Abstract
Summary
A total of 25 arboviruses representing 5 different serogroups (A, B, C, Bunyamwera and California) were studied and found to possess hemolytic activity. With the exception of Japanese B virus, special treatment of viral antigens was necessary to demonstrate hemolytic activity by the group B viruses. The hemolytic properties appeared to be a common property of the arboviruses.
