Summary
Furosemide, 25 mg/kg/hr (25 mg/kg prime) abolished the sodium medullary gradient in the dog kidney. It is concluded that the natruresis produced by furosemide is due, at least in part, to inhibition of sodium reabsorption in the ascending limb of the loop of Henle.
