Abstract
Summary
Preliminary evidence has been presented which indicates that in the larval anuran, Rana catesbeiana, stimulation of the anterior limb bud field by cutting leads to the formation of supernumerary limbs. The abnormal appendages were conveniently categorized as duplicate or triplicate structures. In most instances 2 members of each of the above 2 classes were mirror images. These findings are discussed in relation to others dealing with similar systems.
