Summary
A modification of Somogyi's saccharogenic method for serum amylase is presented in which maltose and other products formed in the enzymatic hydrolysis of starch are determined photometrically by reaction with ethylamine. Various aspects of this method were studied and results compared with the Henry-Chiamori modification of Somogyi's method.
